Netball

We are a social netball club and offer all ladies in DB an opportunity to meet new people, keep fit and let their competitive spirit out on the Netball Court against other clubs in Hong Kong. We usually train on a Thursday evening between 7 and 9 pm (depending on venue and availability of players). As I mentioned above, we are hoping to secure a proper Netball court to train on this season, if not at the community centre then perhaps at one of the schools (nothing finalized yet, but we are keeping our fingers crossed). Matches are usually played on Monday evenings in Hong Kong at various indoor and outdoor venues. Matches are 1 hour long and match sessions are scheduled between 7 and 10 pm. The Netball season in Hong Kong is run in 2 halves, September to December and January to April. We will start recruiting for the next season in August, so all interested parties are invited to send an email to the DB Pirates Netball Club Convenor Jessica Bowden (jessicajbowden@yahoo.co.uk) and she will keep them in the loop when our season starts again after the Summer Break.

DB Pirates Netball is open to all Ladies in DB (we are also able to accept Junior Ladies i.e. 16 - 21 years of age, as the HKNA does have a Junior Membership Option). We charge a minimal fee each season to supplement the very generous sponsorship we get from DB Pirates. The fee goes towards our competition kits (shirt and skorts in the pirates colours and design), any payments we have to make towards venue costs for training and registration fees with the HKNA. The joining fee is revised each season depending on the costs faced and the sponsorship from DB Pirates, but to date has never been more than $800.
