On 15 and 16 February 2025, the Discovery Bay Pirates are heading to Bangkok to compete in Asia’s largest social rugby tournament, the 2025 Bangkok International Rugby 10s.

The event is entering its 19th year and in 2024 had over 2,000 players and officials in attendance representing 100 teams from across the APAC region.

The 2-day tournament is held on grass at the Bangkok Patana Sports Complex. We have entered 7 mixed teams across the U8, U10, U12, U14, and U16 divisions and will have over 200 Pirate families, players and supporters representing the club.

In advance of the tour, the club is collecting preloved boots in support of the tournament charity beneficiary, the Nak Suu Rugby Academy, a charity program based in Bangkok created to encourage and educate children in positive life choices, values, and skills as well as respond to the overwhelming need for preventative methods to protect and restore children at risk in Asia.

But before we set sail for Bangkok, on 9 February we are hosting a pre-tour braai (BBQ) for touring families and sponsors and to present players with their tour kit, contact your coach for details.

Many thanks to our sponsors for their support and help with tour costs.

Go well Pirates!

Take what you can, leave no-one behind!
