Tour report: The 2025 Bangkok International Rugby 10s

On Friday 14 February the Pirates descended on Bangkok for one of the most anticipated tournaments in the calendar, the sold out 2025 Bangkok International Rugby 10’s!
The tournament was an incredible showcase of talent and community spirit within our club brining an impressive contingent of nearly 90 players from the U7 to U16 divisions.
Held at the Bangkok Patana School, the tournament was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of youth rugby, fostering a sense of community and sportsmanship among the players. The Pirates participation was not just about winning but also about building camaraderie and supporting a good cause, with all proceeds going to the Nak Suu Rugby Academy, helping underprivileged kids through rugby.
As part of the tour, players donated over 40 pairs of pre loved boots which will be distributed through the Academy to players in need.
Along with the boots, each pack had stickers and a dual language card with a message from the club.
Beyond the matches, the club hosted a series of social events for players, parents and coaches including a dinner and movie night in the hotel ballroom for the younger grades and various dinners at nearby restaurants for the older players.
When off the field the hotel pool quickly became the place to be, to cool down and an opportunity for players to gel as a squad and club as well as parents and coaches to digest the days matches over a beer.
The Bangkok 10s, with its blend of competitive spirit and social fun, was truly brought to life by our Pirates, who left the field not just with memories but with lessons in teamwork, resilience, and community spirit.
Many thanks to our tour sponsors for their support.
Roll on 2026!
